After graduating in Law at Nottingham University Ruth qualified as a Barrister in 1986.
‍
She then joined the Crown Prosecution Service, working first in the South London area and then as a Senior Crown Prosecutor in Sheffield where she stayed until 1994.
‍
The same year Ruth and her family moved to Cyprus where she practised law in a large Cypriot law firm until 2004.
Since then Ruth has been in independent practice.

Ruth is fluent in both written and spoken Greek and English, and having practised in Cyprus for 25 years she has a good knowledge and understanding of the Cypriot legal system and the Cypriot way of doing things.
